ABOUT HOLY COMFORTERS

We are a group of women from a number of local churches that make full sized quilts for Lutheran World Relief, baby/children’s quilts for 25/40 (a mission outreach to orphans in South Africa), SALT (a mission outreach to abandoned, suffering, and poor children in Kenya and Thailand), and the ASSIST Crisis Pregnancy Center.

  • We also make quilts for sale to raise funds for supplies to make the donated quilts (such as batting), and cover the shipping expenses. 100% of the funds raised are used for these needs.
  • Most of the fabrics are donated by people in our local area.
  • In addition, we welcome donations to help cover supplies and the shipping expenses.
  • Last year we made 121 full-sized quilts and 75 of the baby/child quilts.
  • Prince of Peace Lutheran Church makes available the sewing space, storage cabinets, electricity, etc. at no charge to us.

This website focus is to advertise the availability of the quilts that are for sale and offer the availability of making donations to the program.  See the quilts offered on-line for sale to raise funds for these causes on Our Quilts for Sale!

If you are interested in helping us by participating in making the quilts, we meet at Prince of Peace on Thursdays from 9:30am to 3pm in Room 27 during January – May each year.

  1. The quilts are just beautiful and such a worthy cause. My hat is off the these talented ladies who give of their time and talents to create these lovely works of art. I know they are so appreciated by those who recieve them. Barbara Ahern

  2. Ladies – I’m impressed with the volume of quilts you make. That is double what we made when I worked with you all seven (!) years ago. As always, they look spectacular on the church pews. This is a wonderful group, and I know you all enjoy making the quilts and the fellowship of being together. Good job!
